Filament Winding Simulation for Robotic Cell Design
Filament winding is gaining increasing importance due to the widespread availability of modern automation techniques. This requires high designing efforts in order to exploit such a potentiality. For the achievement of high level of accuracy, numeric controlled industrial robots are used to carry special designed delivery eye. Moreover, the necessity to process complex shape objects leads to co...
متن کاملA real-time computer controller for a Robotic Filament Winding system
This paper presents an integrated real-time control system for a Robotic Filament Winding manufacturing cell. The architecture is based on a multiprocessor system employing four processor boards. The system incorporates a hierarchical control layout with the task specification at the highest level and the robot and winder set point tracking at the lowest. Eventual design goals include a PC fron...
متن کاملFilament Winding: an Integrated Simulation Environment for Automated Cell Programming
Filament winding is a process in which tensioned resin-impregnated continuous fibers are placed on a specified path on a mandrel. Automated systems have been adopted to deliver the fiber with a fixed level of accuracy. Process simulation is a very important question in automated applications. Moreover, the necessity to process complex shape objects leads to consider different alternatives to de...
متن کاملGenetic Algorithm Optimization of a Filament Winding Process
This paper describes a research effort to improve the efficiency of a filament winding process by combining the simulation capabilities of the WITNESS modeling program with the search capabilities of a genetic algorithm. Results show that the genetic algorithm is able to reduce the cost of producing filament wound mandrels used in the defense industry.
متن کاملEEG-based communication and control: speed-accuracy relationships.
People can learn to control mu (8-12 Hz) or beta (18-25 Hz) rhythm amplitude in the EEG recorded over sensorimotor cortex and use it to move a cursor to a target on a video screen. In our current EEG-based brain-computer interface (BCI) system, cursor movement is a linear function of mu or beta rhythm amplitude. In order to maximize the participant's control over the direction of cursor movemen...
